Imagine being raised by a man who had experienced life at its lowest points, but was able to rise above hatred and begin a new life based on his Christian faith. I am compelled to tell my father's story, so the younger generation will be able to appreciate their ancestry and continue the legacy that my father, Richard Allen Franks started over 90 years ago.

Surviving a riot that destroyed a community and literally carrying six siblings hand in hand (one of which was a paraplegic on his back) through swamps, muck, and mysterious and dangerous woods to settle in a new town called Plymouth was what made Richard Allen Franks a survivor, and a father.
